The cost of teen rehab in Arizona varies depending on the level of care and insurance coverage. On average, adolescent outpatient treatment costs around $3,278 out-of-pocket, while residential treatment programs average $56,789, making Arizona the 31st cheapest state for drug rehab. Keep in mind the most recent data is from 2022 and has not been adjusted for inflation.
Remember that these figures represent full out-of-pocket expenses. Most families do not pay these amounts directly because major insurance providers typically cover a significant portion of the costs. Additional financial assistance and alternative payment options are also widely available to help make essential adolescent treatment affordable and accessible.

How Much Does Teen Rehab Cost in Arizona? Average Costs of Addiction Treatment Programs
It’s always hard to say exactly how much addiction treatment will cost. Many factors go into it, like the specific treatment center you go to and whether you’re using insurance. That said, we do have some general data on average drug rehab costs.[1]
What is the Cost of Adolescent Outpatient Treatment?
The average cost of adolescent outpatient treatment, adjusted for inflation, was $3,278 in 2022. As of 2026, the cost, adjusted for inflation, would be higher. This is out of pocket. People with insurance coverage (or another form of financial assistance) won’t pay that amount.
What is the Cost of Residential Treatment for Teens?
Arizona is the 31st cheapest state for drug rehab. Residential treatment programs cost an average of $56,789 (based on 2022 data and not adjusted for inflation). Again, this is out of pocket. Most major insurance providers cover it. There are other forms of payment assistance for those in need, too.
Insurances Accepted at Artemis Adolescent Healing Center

Artemis Adolescent Healing Center accepts nearly all forms of insurance. We retain contracts with as many insurance companies as possible so we can help as many families and teens as possible.
Verifying your insurance coverage is easy and straightforward. Just give us a call. With your teen’s insurance card or information (e.g., plan name, policy number) ready, the process should take a few minutes.
If there are any problems, we can help. Our team in Tucson will contact your teen’s insurance provider for you, submit any additional documentation, or do whatever else we can.
Paying for Rehab – Scholarships and Alternatives
Don’t have insurance? Struggling to find care for your teen? There are other non-insurance options that can help.
Teen Alcohol and Drug Rehab Scholarships
Scholarships and grants help people cover addiction treatment. You don’t have to pay back a cent of the scholarship or grant. It’s applied directly to your teen’s account. Everything will be ready to go.
There are state-specific scholarships Arizona teens can receive. Artemis will help your family explore your options and apply if needed.
Sliding Scale Rates for Teen Treatment Programs in Arizona
Artemis Adolescent Healing Center offers sliding scale rates. Sliding scale means the cost of a service is adjusted based on your income. We’ll lower total out-of-pocket treatment costs.
Payment Plans for Drug Rehab
Payment plans for drug rehab and other forms of adolescent treatment services let your family pay smaller, manageable amounts over time.
You can often get a payment plan whether or not you have a sliding-scale rate. We’ll create an agreement with you so that there won’t be any surprises.
What Factors Influence Teen Rehab Pricing in Arizona?

All rehab centers have different treatment costs. They can vary dramatically. Outside of that, how much people pay for teen rehab often depends on factors such as the following.
Type of Health Insurance Plan
The type of health insurance plan your teen has can affect treatment costs. Some insurance plans cover drug rehab in full. Families pay no out-of-pocket costs. With other insurance plans, copay amounts vary significantly.
Level of Care
Both adult and teen residential treatment programs tend to come with higher out of pocket costs. This is largely due to costs associated with room and board. Outpatient services (including partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs) tend to be cheaper.
Length of Stay
Some people stay in residential treatment centers and outpatient programs for longer than others. While this does influence the total cost of treatment, therapeutic treatment lengths are essential for success. Longer courses of treatment are associated with better outcomes.

Choosing Artemis for Teen Treatment Program Support
Artemis Adolescent Healing Center was built on clinical excellence. Insurance coverage and cost aside, here are just a few reasons families choose us.
Continuum of Care
Artemis Adolescent Healing Center offers multiple levels of care. Treatment options include:
- Residential inpatient treatment. Residential programs provide 24/7 support and supervision. Teens live on-site at our center. They’ll engage in daily group therapy, once-weekly individual therapy sessions, and other treatment activities until they’re ready to enter a lower level of care.
- Partial hospitalization programs (PHP). Provides highly structured, daily therapy without requiring teens to live on-site. PHP can function as an alternative to, or a step down from, residential inpatient treatment.
- Intensive outpatient program (IOP). Treatment sessions meet a few hours per day, a few days per week. Teens in IOP can more easily balance everyday life (e.g., school) with this form of addiction treatment and/or mental health treatment.
- Outpatient and aftercare. Follow-up care and ongoing therapy (e.g., 1-2 days per week) for clients leaving a higher level of care is the typical client at our traditional teen outpatient rehab.
Teens typically follow a step-down approach (e.g,, a higher level of care, like PHP, followed by IOP). This trajectory is designed to support your teen and family through every stage of recovery.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment for Teens with Co-Occurring Disorders

Many teens facing addiction have one or more co-occurring mental health conditions or behavioral disorders. Common co-occurring mental disorders in youth with substance use disorders include:[3]
- Depression.
- Bipolar disorder.
- Personality disorders.
- Anxiety.
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
- Conduct disorder.
- Eating disorders.
When we treat addiction in teens, we provide compassionate care for co-occurring mental health issues and neurodevelopmental disorders like ADHD.
Called dual diagnosis treatment, this approach supports whole-person well-being and positive recovery outcomes.
A Supportive, Trauma-Informed Environment
Trauma-informed care is an approach to treatment. It avoids retraumatization, prioritizes a client’s strengths, and shifts the focus from “what’s wrong with you?” to “what happened to you?” and “what helps you?”
We provide empowering, ethical mental health and addiction treatment for teens. Our providers are trauma-informed with a wide variety of unique backgrounds and areas of specialty.
Family Involvement and Transparency
You’ll be involved in your teen’s treatment at Artemis. If your teen is in residential inpatient rehab at our center, you will be able to visit them. We strongly recommend participation in family therapy sessions when viable.
Not only will you have full cost transparency, but you will know what to expect from your teen’s treatment and will be a part of it.
Highly Personalized, Evidence-Based Treatment
Whether your teen is getting help for drug and alcohol addiction and/or other mental health challenges, they will get a personalized treatment plan at Artemis. We use the most up-to-date, evidence-based therapies. For example:
- Behavioral therapies, such as dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.
- Trauma-focused therapies.
- Experiential therapy and activities (e.g., art therapy, exercise, outdoor activities).
- Mindfulness-based therapies.
- Motivational therapies.
- Family therapy.
We have healthcare providers on staff who can handle medication management, if applicable.
What Happens After Insurance Verification? Next Steps in the Admissions Process

After your teen’s insurance is verified, we’ll move on to the pre-intake assessment. This commitment-free assessment is conducted over the phone. We’ll ask questions about what brings them to treatment and make sure that our center is the right fit.
Once we have more information and you are ready to move forward, we’ll schedule a comprehensive intake evaluation. This will include a medical exam and in-depth verbal interview.
After that, we’ll work with you to choose an admissions date and go over everything your family needs to know about what to expect. For example, what to bring to our treatment center (for teen residential treatment) and academic support.
